The air was heavy as a wet blanket wrapped around me.

Evening was rolling in without a sound.
Like a whisper the darkness settled upon the land.

All the creatures settled in their comfort as
the air wet and heavy flowed upon the land.

I thought of all the day had been
and wished I had seen you today.

Each day we are apart the rain
becomes heavy upon my soul.

Like a wet blanket my sad heart yearns for you near.
Perhaps tomorrow a bright sunny day
will bring you back to my arms.

Arms that long to hold you near.
To wrap around you like a warm blanket
