Louis, the second son of Frederick Baker Furbish, was born on 27 June 1882 in Cambridge, Massachusetts.  Louis was blinded at the age of fourteen as a  result of playing with a toy cannon.

Louis married Cornelia Clowser of Cambridge.

Cornelia was born in Cambridge on 5 January 1885. Cornelia died in Boston on 20 December 1909 at the age of 24, the day after giving birth to her daughter Cornelia Blanche Furbish.

Louis married Winnie E. Simmonds. Winnie was born 16 March 1883 in Northfield, Massachusetts and died in Somerville, Massachusetts on 20 December 1966.

Louis worked as a manager of a variety store.

Louis died in Malden Massachusetts on 11 August 1971.
