The spacious and adequately equipped carriage factory and horseshoeing
shop
of Chas. F. Furbish, corner of Kirkland
and Middle streets, is headquarters in
Dover for stylish, thoroughly made car-
riages, reliable wagons and vehicles of
various descriptions and expert horse-
shoeing. Carriage and wagon repairing
is a specialty, all work guaranteed to
prove satisfactory and with charges
reasonable. Floor space of 4,000 feet is
occupied and from 6 to 8 skilled work-
men employed. Mr. Furbish is a native
of Eliot, Me., and was there educated in
the public schools. He learned his trade
in Dover in 1872, and embarked in busi-
ness for himself in 1875, buying out his
employer, and during his entire working
at his trade, was never out of Ward 4
but 2 months, and became established as
at present in 1890. Mr. Furbish is a
member of the Masons, Council and
Chapter, the Odd Fellows, Canton,
Encampment and Rebekahs, and K. of
P., Uniform rank, and is highly regarded
in our city, both commercially and per-
sonally.
