I Joseph Furbish of Kittery in the county of York, yeoman, considering
the uncertainty of this mortal life, and being of sound mind and memory,
blessed to Almighty God for the same; do make and publish this my last
will and testament in manner and form following. (that is to say) I give
and bequeath unto my youngest son John Furbish of Kittery aforesaid twenty
dollars, to be paid him the one half paid thereof within one year after
my decease and the remainder of said sum within two years after my decease.
I do also give and bequeath unto my only daughter Sarah Furbish
twenty dollars to be paid her the one half thereof within one year after
my decease and the remainder of said mentioned twenty dollars within two
years after my decease.
I do also give and bequeath unto my eldest son Stephen Furbish
to hold to him, his heirs and assigns forever, all that messuage or tenement
in said Kittery whereon I now dwell, together with all
whatever or wherever.
I further give and bequeath to the said Stephen Furbish all my
personal estate, goods and chattels of what kind and nature soever, he
paying the several legacies or sums of money I have above given to the
several and respective legatees within the time and times abovementioned
to be paid, and also pay all my just debts and funeral charges.
And lastly I hereby appoint my said son Stephen executor of this
my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made.
In witness whereof I have hereby set my hand and seal, this thirteenth
day of January, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and
eight.
Signed, sealed, published and declared by the above named Joseph Furbish
to be his last will and testament in the presence of use who hereunto subscribed
our names as witnesses in the presence of the testator.
