The following is the transcription of the will of Stephen Furbish.
The will was witnessed by Simon Emery, Noah Emery, Caleb Emery
and signed by Stephen Furbish and George Thawher.
I Stephen Furbish of Eliot in the county of York, do this
fifth day of October AD 1826, make and publish my
last will and testament in manner and form following
vis. I give and devise to my wife Catherine Furbish
all my personal estate at her disposal, also the use and
improvement of one half of my real estate so long as she
shall remain my widow.
I give and devise to my daughters Hannah Frost
and Sarah Glen and my grandson William
Calvin Furbish son of my son William Cutter
Furbish one dollar each to be paid by my son Joseph
within two years after my decease.
I give and devise to my son Samuel Furbish
ten dollars to be paid by my son Joseph in three
years after my decease.
I give to my daughters, Martha, Elizabeth and
Lois the use and improvement of one room in
my dwelling house so long as they remain sin
gle and unmarried.
I give and devise to my son Joseph Furbish all
the rest residence and remainder of my estate to him
and his heirs and assigns forever , to come into the
possession of one half at my decease and the residue
at the decease or marriage of my wife he the said
Joseph to pay all my just debts funeral charges &
the legacies as above mentioned.
And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint
my son Joseph Furbush sole Executor of this my last
will and testament hereby revoking all former wills
by me made. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set
my hand and seal this 5th day of October AD
