Jesus and My Family!

In thinking of my family, I have given much thought to what is the central focus of my family. So often I hear comments about family focus being on a special vacation, home, hobby, sports activity, recreation… and the list goes on.

These things, although a vital part of a well-adapted family, should not become the central focus around which the family co-exists. What a tragedy life is when the focus of life is maintained upon a created object or activity rather than upon the Creator of life. Those temporary things of life will soon pass away but real life is eternal.

Just as Jesus Christ is to be my individual Lord of my life, I should focus in on Jesus as the central member of my whole family. In doing this, when tragedy comes in whatever form, my focus will always be to Jesus and, thereby, my source of strength and comfort will never fail.

Fellowship is not only a word describing our relationship with other Christians, it also applies to our family relationship with Jesus Christ.
