These Reflections Articles are designed to focus on a Biblical principle that can be applied to every life.  No matter where in the journey of life you the readers are, I believe the inspired word of God has revealed within it the pattern and absolutes of truth that will help each person find happiness and the meaning and purpose to life.

God, the creator of all that there is, has revealed His purpose for mankind and the answer to all of life's pressing questions.  Within the inspired word of God (The Bible) we can find truth and absolutes to guide us as we walk through life with a goal and hope of eternal life in heaven with God through Jesus Christ His son.

:: MINISTRY BACKGROUND INTRODUCTION ::

The Abiding Word and Cross Link Counseling started as outreach ministries of the church of Christ. In the 1960’s The Abiding Word was a radio program on WOKO, an Albany Radio Station hosted by the late Perry O. Newton, then minister with the Albany Church of Christ. Over the years The Abiding Word has developed into a print and online Bible Study Resource promoting Bible-based study guides and resources. Cross Link Counseling was begun by Edward E. Healy in the 1980’s as a mission outreach and counseling ministry through the Albany Church of Christ. Since the beginning the focus has been on Christ-centered Biblical Christian Counseling. Since 2000 these two ministries have merged to focus mainly on promoting Biblical Principles for Christian Growth. With the website www.TheAbidingWord.com this ministry provides FREE Online Bible Study Resources and eBook Study Guides. Now living in the Adirondacks, I am a semi-retired minister of the Gospel having served in ministry as a Gospel Preacher/Evangelist, Family Christian Counselor, Hospital Chaplain and Foreign Missionary. It is my purpose to share and encourage people I come in contact with to consider God our Heavenly Father, Jesus the Son of God and the Holy Spirit. I hold a Masters Degree in Christian Counseling, a Bachelors Degree in Bible/Ministry, Certification as Nouthetic Biblical Counselor, Clinical Pastoral Education Certification as Hospital Chaplain, and over 45 years in ministry. Also in my early years I have an Associates Degree in Management Engineering, training with work experience as Electrical-Mechanical Machine Designer and self-employed experience in residential electrical-mechanical installation.  In my later years I ran my own web design and computer service business called Veren Services. I have now retired from this business and I now devote my efforts towards volunteer community service and church ministry.  Perhaps you could say I am a "Jack of All Trades, Master of None". © The Abiding Word A Division of Veren Services
